Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, has a population of 856,553 and is the third most populated county in Pennsylvania. The county seat is Norristown. The county was created on September 10, 1784, out of land originally part of Philadelphia County. Montgomery County is a bedroom county for Philadelphia, and many residents work there. Bryn Mawr College and DeVry University are located in the County. The County is governed by a three-person county commission currently composed of two Democrats and one Republican. By law, the county commission must have one member of a minority party represented.

Felony Drug Court is part of the Montgomery Cunty Drug Treatment Court and provides intensive substance abuse treatment, education, and related services to offenders who are under criminal justice supervision. Comprehensive treatment for the participant and the factors that drive addictions are discussed, and clients are empowered to overcome barriers that interfere with their ability to make behavioral and life changes.
